Eleven years ago, our business partner and our dear friend, Jay Kynerd, suddenly passed away. He was only 34 years old. In a blink of an eye, Jay was here building a business with us, and then he was gone.
Some voids, it seems, can never be filled. So it is with our friend Jay Kynerd. Jay was passionate about many things in life. He was passionate about business, friendships, family, and he was passionate about fishing. Oh, how he loved to fish. The thing is, however, Jay Kynerd didn’t just fish for fish. Jay Kynerd was a fisherman of people. So many people in Jay’s short life were led to a deeper relationship with God as well as a deeper relationship with life itself. Jay had a way of being a guiding light for all around him. He was a lure unto himself. Cast into the lives of others, Jay always seemed to attract others to something good.
In Jay’s honor, Capital Strategies created the Jay D. Kynerd Scholarship. This scholarship’s purpose is to aid in the college expenses of any child of our firm’s staff.
Jay D. Kynerd was a guiding light all around us.
To this very day, his light continues to shine.
